The Nadav Family Silversmith Workshop
“Founded in 1951, the Nadav Family Silversmith Workshop is celebrating its 55th anniversary.
The founder, our grandfather, was an esteemed silversmith, whose handmade silver jewelry numbered among the possessions of Yemen’s royal family.
Encouraged by the King, our grandfather immigrated to Israel establishing the family jewelry-making tradition in Israel. He became one of the founders of the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem and was killed in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Nachlaot by sniper fire during the War of Independence.
Following the death of his father, Saadia Nadav assumed his role as head of the family and of the workshop. He continued his father’s traditions, while expanding the range of silverwork to create and produce new and modern jewelry designs, Judaica and ritual objects. Saadia completed his studies and graduated with the 2nd class of the Bezalel Academy of Art.
Over the years, members of the third generation have joined the family heritage in producing handmade Judaica, filigree and silver ornaments of antique design while maintaining the highest quality material and work. It is the meticulous handcrafting and formation of the products that sets them apart. All stages of production, material cutting, design and decoration are done by hand, and all items are made of Sterling silver 925.
Our team of renowned artists and veteran staff ensure the creation of top quality and unique artistic objects.
Today, we produce more than 1,000 different items. Our clients include, among others, the Israel Museum, the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament) and the President’s House, which presents our items as gifts to visiting dignitaries, and to presidents and royalty around the world.”
