Shabbat

The Jewish Shabbat (meaning “period of rest”) is a holy day that begins at sundown on Friday evenings and ceases when three stars are visible in a single glance on the Saturday night that follows. It is the day established by Jewish law to “Remember and Guard” in keeping this day holy. There are many laws associated with this commandment and special prayers and rituals are followed by those who observe the Shabbat, which is a joyous event.
